Ash Wednesday

So I know I'm a little late... 20-odd something days, but hey. I started the day by going to 7am church. Lenten season started strong... I decided my 'fast' for the 40 days was facebook. Well, that lasted 12 days, but I digress.

 At work...

I was super excited because after work I was getting my hair done, compliments of a 50% off groupon. 

 Highlights & lowlights...

Chunky blonde and lowlights #4 (dark)...

The final... Love love love!!! I think I'm going to go to my regular hair lady for cuts, and the new lady for color. Next time I'm going for dark #5. Wooo! :) She also dried my hair with a difuser, which I may have to invest in.

It's been crazy here. I haven't felt well, which in turn causes me to be in a funk. I've been praying. A lot. I've been reading God's word, seeking His will and purpose. I really hope to begin my regular blogging schedule next week. Here are a couple pictures to catch you up on the last month. :)

I cried as my brother, Ky, graduated from high school

I hung out with people I went to Haiti with... what a blast!

Sung "Proud to Be An American" at a concert at Ft. Leavenworth...cried.

Went to St. Louis for Memorial Weekend... refrained from crying.

Something I absolutely love is peaceful drives. This is usually where I spend my time with God discussing all my major life issues... or He just tries to tell me where to go. :) I try to time my drives where I will see the sun rise or the sun set, there's nothing better than seeing God's creation while talking to Him!!

This picture was taking on my way to Nebraska one early November morning. The story of the picture that you don't know is that I was on my way there to attend a funeral of two of my brothers friends that were killed in a car accident. This moment reflected one of the most peaceful moments that day.

I picked something that's relevant to my life right now. Since I'm leaving the country in a few days, I chose this. The luggage is semi-new (I got it for Christmas) and everything inside it is new; travel size bottles, razors, swim suit, clothes - including my Easter skirt on top.

Normally I do pictures of the week on Fridays, but last night a friend was in town and we went to dinner at McCormick & Schmick's on the Plaza. So, for my picture of the week... our dessert. It was soooooooo yum! :)

Not a very good pic... but to give you an idea: It's a "lunch bag" made out of Belgian dark chocolate, filled with white chocolate mousse and berries. Yum yum!

I love taking pictures of old buildings, especially churches. This is one in Emporia, Kansas. One of these I'm going to get a cute picture of the church I see every day on my way to work. It's a cute little country church, that's just very quaint.

Last Sunday I became an "official" member of my church. I was baptized there a year ago, I'm very active in serving, so I thought.. why not? :)
