For the last couple of weeks I've been pondering the movie Fireproof. Some of my single friends have currently watched the movie, and have said they didn't like it for different reasons. As a single person you need to watch the movie for the messages... not constantly thinking, "Where's my partner?" etc., etc.
One thing that struck me was the song "I'm Waiting" by John Waller... check out the lyrics and see if this hits the nail on the head.
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on you, Lord
and I am hopeful
I'm waiting on you, Lord
though it is painful
but patiently I will wait
I will move ahead bold and confident
taking every step in obedience
while I'm waiting
I will serve you
while I'm waiting
I will worship
while I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'm running the race
even while I wait
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on you, Lord
and I am peaceful
I'm waiting on you, Lord
though it's not easy
but faithfully I will wait
I will move ahead bold and confident
taking every step in obedience
while I'm waiting
I will serve you
while I'm waiting
I will worship
while I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'm running the race
even while I wait
I will move ahead bold and confident
taking every step in obedience
while I'm waiting
I will serve you
while I'm waiting
I will worship
while I'm waiting
I will not faint
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on you, Lord...
This is my prayer. That I can serve, worship, and patiently wait no matter how hard it is. It's been quite some time since I've "searched" for a guy. I'm a member of a Christian dating site - and rarely log in. Hmm... is he right around the corner? I don't know, but I'm going to keep living my life until he shows up! By the way - this is an excellent movie; married or single! :)
How to Hold A Story

I haven't watched it yet--but A and I have been told we "should". I guess we'll put it on the list :0)
And for what it's worth, I'd given up on dating entirely, even made plans to adopt in a few years and live as a single parent household. About 9/10 months ago I realized that's not really the "plan A" I wanted...and strangely enough that's about the time I started talking to A more and realized that he had feelings for me. So thereyago.
Love that movie--but couldn't watch it with other people around 'cause I cried so much. What can I say? I'm a sap. ;)
I totally did not think I would date the man I married for long. I went into it to have fun (in a good way). I had been too serious for too long about the process, I think. Now I am coming up on my 17th wedding anniversary! It hasn't been easy, but it's been totally worth it!
Ever read any books by Anne Kiemel Anderson or Elisabeth Elliot? I totally plan to give my copies of their books to my daughters when they get older. Amazing women. Amazing God.
When you least expect it, God will put your soul mate right on your front porch.
Have a great day.
Lora, I loved this movie too! what a blessing to see this being a newlywed too. surely tough times will come...but with the right armor we can tackle anything:)

Wow! What a fabulous song! Totally speaks to me! I believe I've heard it but I hadn't really paid attention to the words. And while I'm doing The Love Dare right now, I haven't seen the movie. I'm actually waiting till I'm done with The Love Dare to see it now. I definitely want to though. Thanks so much for sharing!
And I'm sure your man, your One True Love is right around the corner. =)
